Art, Fashion, Music & Paul Smith UNCUT
17-06-2013

At the Archive last Wednesday Paul Smith invited three artists to immerse themselves in the Paul Smith brand for inspiration, and display their work at a live art event. Yasmin Richie exhibited STORYLINES UNCUT, a limited edition collection based on the original Storylines concept.
“All the designs in the Storyline collection are inspired by films. I wanted to show the colour palette of a film without any imagery and the stripes were the perfect way to do it – they are abstract and colourful yet understated, very much like the Paul Smith stripes."
“What I love about the Paul Smith brand is that it’s very classic and elegant, but has an eclectic edge to it that makes the brand fun and playful while still being quintessentially British. These are very much the values I try to adhere to in my own work so it’s an honour for me to be associated with Paul Smith,” she added.
The pieces on display from the UNCUT collection included Storylines inspired by; The King's Speech, Avatar, Scarface, City of Life, The Shawshank Redemption and Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back. In addition, there was also a special limited edition piece created using the 1997 Living with the Lions documentary signed by British Lions legend Paul Wallace.
